She is sassy and will play all day with other horses and clients. She is also a cart horse, which means she can pull a person in a cart and can drag the Rusty Halo arena. This means she’ll be a working horse and will help out with day-to-day operations. She’ll be great for smaller clients who want to ride or want to be carried in a cart. We can’t wait to have Ginger a part of the Rusty Halo family! He earned his name due to his ethereal nature and dance-like moves. Clients love to dance along with him as they experience his deep sensitivity and willingness to connect. Gally came to us in an emaciated state. With the love of everyone at the barn and some really good food and nutrients, he filled out beautifully. He continues to receive unique care for his anxiety with food. His chill vibe makes him easy to work with and he can always be counted on for a hug. Mack was a former rodeo horse that was used as a pick up man. That means they used him to ride out and pick up the riders that fell or needed to be pulled in from the arena for their safety. Now that he is with us, he is still helping people, just in a different way. Mack came with ring bone in his front feet and is also on consistent medical and physical care. She is a mare (female horse) and is an absolute love. She is the most social of the herd and always ready to greet people. She came to us very shut down, being referred to as an orphan who never had a real home. Shuffled around from place to place after being on the race track, she has finally found a safe space with us. Unfortunately, because she was a former racehorse, she has many physical ailments we are working on rehabbing. She came with scars and years of wear and tear on her body. This has made her a beautiful partner when working with teen girls, non-binary teens, young adults and those struggling with self-harm. She shows the clients her grace and power that comes along with her scars and ailments. The immediate connection she made with teens and young adults was astonishing. She was meant for therapy work. Aurora is an interesting horse with a personality of her own. She likes to test people by acting like she’s scared of you, but once she warms up to you she will be so sweet. She mirrors clients and will be great for Rusty Halo clients. For riders who have fear bubbling up, Mia helps those riders feel solid and grounded. A lot of Rusty Halo clients don’t have that stable environment so it is important for them to have that grounded feeling, which Mia helps provide.
